Slavko Janevski (1920-2000)
poet,
novelist, short-story writer, translator, and painter. He was the founder
and editor of several literary magazines in Skopje. He was an
editor-in-chief of the publishing house "Makedonska kniga" in Skopje. He is
the author of the first novel in modern Macedonian, Selo zad sedumte
jaseni (The Village Beyond the Seven Ash-Trees), 1952. Other

literature. Has translated several books of poetry by Russian, Serbian and
