Petar Kostov (1928)

a novelist and writer of short fiction. Short story collections: Bog da go prosti Charli (God Bless Charlie) 1973; Za vodata, vinoto i Angelija (Concerning Water, Wine, and Angelija) 1983; Chinovnici, ljubovnici, poeti, buntovnici (Clerks, Lovers, Poets, Rebels) 1988. Novels: Pak kukurigaa crvenite petli (The Red Roosters Crowed Again) 1971; Kulata (The Tower) 1980; Kralot of Kumanovo (The King of Kumanovo). Skits, radio and TV Plays: Peenjeto prodolzhuva (The Singing Continues), Vetrot papsa neusetno (The Wind Went Silent Quietly), Letala od hartija (Paper Kites), Kradecot so sentimentalno srce (The Thief with a Sentimental Heart), Muva (A Fly), Paltoto (The Coat), Bel pajak i crveno predivo (White Spider and Red Web), Sakate li parche torta (Would You Like a Piece of Cake), Svekja za arhiepiskopot (A Candle for the Archbishop). He has also published books for children. Awards: Nova Makedonija.
